iBaguette AI Use Content Policy
Here on the iBaguette team, I’ve led a deep discussion and debate about the use of AI in our content. To summarise:
We will NOT be using AI, at all, to directly write the content that you see on the website.
Yes, you heard that right! I want to make sure that our content is trustworthy, detailed and that things on the site are designed to be read by a human, written by a human.
This does not mean we won’t be using AI - it’s definitely very powerful for certain applications and a great technology for a subset of the site’s operations. Therefore:
- AI tools MAY be used to identify content gaps and for clarifications (but ANY output all will be double checked written by a human)
- Code written/used to power the site MAY be AI-generated - this is due to the sheer amount of time savings it provides, and we want to focus on writing the best content and having a great service.
- Anything else that’s not directly the content that you read across the iBaguette network might have AI used to make it better. Ping a developer on Discord if you’d like to know about something specific! A new role has been added so you can identify the (growing) team.
In addition:
- I’ll be going back over and auditing previous articles, posts and content for AI use when I have time to remove and rewrite any existing AI-generated content that may have been used on the site. This might take a while but I'll update this post once it's done!
Why such a removal of AI content?
Simply put, I want to make sure everything is completely trustworthy and genuine. There are many notes and sections on Cheat Sheets (at least, the ones I’ve written) at the bottom that show that no AI use has been used when writing them; I am simply expanding this and making it a “policy” so we can be held accountable in the future if we break this promise.
I also like reading, writing and learning new things myself, so not relying on AI should keep up my personal interest in learning how to be a better writer, and ultimately create better material and content for those who use the site!
When are new things being added to iBaguette?
We have plans -- and lots of them. The current plans are to deliver a completely free, brand new, somewhat revolutionary study site where students can search, save, upload and read a range of real exam scripts, NEAs/coursework examples and more scholarly material and have at least a working version, perhaps only with Cheat Sheets included at first, by the 2025 summer exam period. I also hope to personally write some similar posts (e.g. exam timetables) with better formatting within a few weeks too: they did well last year.
For now, there really is a lot going on behind the scenes and lots of stuff in the pipeline (so many sites and companies say the same *cliché* thing but I really mean it here!!) that we are developing, and that we want to perfect, before releasing it. It should be worth the wait!
Content updates for the gaps in existing incomplete Cheat Sheets are on their way too, but university work which is my first priority is indeed relentless!
Thank you for using the site! <3
